Education and positions held: born and raised Zurich. 1969-74 Premed. studies, University Geneva and Diploma in Physics ETH-Zurich. 1974-80 PhD in Physics Mass. Institute of Technology, MD with honors Harvard Medical School. 1980-83 Training as resident internal medicine and Nuclear Medicine (NM) University Hosp. Zurich (USZ) and Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen. 1984/85 MR fellowship at UC San Francisco. Staff physician USZ in Radiology/MR 1985-87. Board certification in NM (1985), Radiology (1989). 1987-2014: Acting Director and Director of the NM Services at USZ with continuing involvement in MR. 2010-2014 Department Chair Med. Rad. 2005-2007 Chief Medical Officer USZ. 2014-current director of education and consultant for special tasks NM USZ.

Scientific career: 1992 first world-wide ramped gradient MR. 1995 first European MR-surgical. Since 1993 PET, 1995 a cyclotron for radiotracer production. 2001 First clinical PET/CT with further development of integrated cardiac imaging. 2010 hybrid trimodality PET/CT-MR (shuttle configuration). Since 2014 first European fully integrated TOF-PET/MR.

Honors: 2007 Honorary doctorate University of Copenhagen in. 1995 Honorary member of the ESMRMB, 2008 Rad. Soc. of North America (RSNA) since 2008. 1997 jubilee prize of the Swiss Soc. of Med. Rad. 2007 Seroussi Memorial Foundation Award /150’000 US$). Bibiliography more than 230 original publications, book chapters. Textbook on hybrid imaging 2003, 2007, 20015: Molecular Anatomic Imaging.

Other functions: 1995-current co-director of IDKD (www.idkd.org) radiological educational courses in Davos, Athens, Beijing, HongKong, Rio. Co-founder and –owner of Timaq sold to Icon plc. Consultant to GE Healthcare.
