Michel Herranz (MD & PhD), born in France in 1972, completed his studies in Medicine and Surgery in Madrid, where he graduated in 1996, obtaining in the same year the degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He received his PhD in Human Genetics of Cancer in 2000 and completed his training at Columbia University in the City of New York until 2005. After that, he joined the National Health System in Cancer Center of Madrid and nowadays he runs the program of Molecular Oncology and Imaging of the Galician government. Add to his academic work, include their successful business with 5 companies and 7 patents, all related to imaging and medicine.

During 15 years, the interest of Dr. Herranz has cancer, early diagnosis and image follow-through of therapies. To do this, he has specialized in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, being professor at USC right now, and clinical department head. Within the study of cancer, breast cancer is the most successful field he has been work, serve as an example that nowadays is the physician with more patients examined through dedicated breast PET in the world.

Molecular imaging, technological development and personalized patient care are the main interests in the day by day of Dr. Herranz. His medical career combines a technological career (international master in medical LASER) and business (4 technological spin offs) for serving the scientific and medical community with the latest advances in technology, physics and computing to enable better diagnosis.
