Mini Pakkal, MBBS, MD, MRCOG, FRCR

Dr Mini Pakkal completed her radiology training in Birmingham in the United Kingdom and worked as staff in the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in the UK for 5 years from 2008-2013. She moved to Toronto and is presently an Assistant Professor in the Cardiothoracic Imaging division in the Joint Department of Medical Imaging in Toronto, Canada. She is the clinical lead for the lung biopsy programme. She works closely with the Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) on various aspects of imaging of lung cancer. In 2015 she was the chairperson of the CCO committee on synoptic reporting for lung cancer staging. Presently she is a member of the CCO committee that is currently in the process of developing a synoptic reporting format and CT technique for lung cancer screening in Canada.

She is also keenly interested in medical education. In her capacity as the Interim Director of Cardiac Education she oversees trainees including residents, observers and fellows in cardiac imaging. She also is a faculty member of the cardiac CT course at Harefield and Brompton NHS Trust, UK and of the cardiac CT course at the Advanced Imaging and Education centre at the University Health Network, Toronto.
