CEC1: Intensive Course and Workshop: The World of Medical Physics (Pre-ICRM Course)

Course Aim:

This intensive course will provide comprehensive lectures to offer a broad understanding of the fundamentals of Medical Physics and help participants to prepare for board certification exams. In addition, workshops emerging from this course will cover topics ranging from basic radiation therapy planning procedures to advanced radiation therapy techniques as well as Monte Carlo simulations, 3D gel dosimetry and radiochromic film dosimetry.

An anonymous practice board exam will be given during the first and the last day of the course to provide participants with medical physics certification exam practice. The practice exam will consist of typical board exam questions on basic radiation physics. Students will complete the exam and hand it in under their chosen code name and the exam results will be posted under the code names.

Handouts related to specific lectures will be distributed before lectures.
