3D Visualization & Simulation Sub-Track

The Emerging Technologies track highlights how technological advancements can be utilized to improve the quality of clinical services and education for patients and medical professionals, respectively. The 3D Visualization & Simulation technologies have been introduced to the healthcare sector as a tool for clinical and medical education purposes. In the 3D Visualization & Simulation sub-track, we will present how Mixed/ Augmented/ Virtual Reality (MR/AR/VR) and virtual simulation technologies have been used in the past few years as an educational and training tool for medical residents and students. Introducing gaming applications in medical education as part of the track will be introduced for the first time in the region. We will also highlight how these technologies can assist in surgical procedures for thoracic surgery.

3D Printing Sub-Track

The 3D Printing sub-track is a major component of the Emerging Technologies track, it highlights the clinical implementation of 3D printing in clinical settings. Starting from the workflow of 3D printing, to regulations and challenges facing the clinical implementation of such technology on patients, finally we will discuss an example of a whole thoracic surgery workflow.

AI in Radiation Medicine Sub-Track

The Emerging Technologies track highlights how technological advancements are being introduced to clinical workflow. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly emerged in the past decade as an effective tool for supporting clinical decisions and workflow operations in healthcare. The Radiation Medicine AI sub-track will address the uses of AI in radiology and radiation oncology.
