Overview:

This track showcases the key elements of radiological sciences related to Radiation Protection, Radiobiology and Emergency Response. It is a forum of discussion for regulators, researchers, operators, radiobiologists, dosimetrists, radiation protection and emergency professionals to learn and share their experiences in applying internationally recognized systems to protect workers, patients, public and the environment from excess radiation exposure.

Topics:

Basics and advanced knowledge of radiation safety, protection, radiobiology, bio-dosimetry and radiation emergency will be presented by international and local experts. Radio-pathology and radiation protection in the different branches of medicine including radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, and radiological emergencies in cases of inadvertent, malicious or nuclear accidents will be covered as part of national preparedness plans.

Attendees have the opportunity to virtually attend practical thematic sessions:

o Radiobiology and Biodosimetry
o Radiation Detection, Calibration and Dosimetry
o Shielding Calculation & Verification
o I-131 Thyroid Therapy, Internal Dose Assessments and Contamination Management
o Radiation Emergency Drill
